Location: Ground floor, Silver Star Towers, Airport City, Accra
Salary: Starting Salary: GHC500 plus incentives (Depending on qualification and experience), Closing date for applications 5pm. 10th April 2017

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Construction Site Supervisor will oversee the construction activities that take place on the worksite
  • Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements.
  • Meet construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Accomplish construction project results by defining project purpose and scope.
  • Approve construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; obtaining approvals from buyers.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Establish & maintain high staff morale, model sound leadership and teamwork.
  • Be an advocate for homeowners and facilitate availability of services and materials.
  • Make suggestions and recommendations for repair.
  • Schedule delivery of needed materials and labor requests.
  • Trouble-shoot and identify construction problems; offer timely and safe solutions.
  • Ensure project proceeds in a timely manner.
  • Manage tool and materials inventory for each project. Ensure unused materials are accounted for and reported to the Director of Construction.

  • Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project (or a package), ensuring that the project specifications and requirements are met.
  • Coordinating and supervising construction workers.
  • Selecting tools and materials for workers
  • Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings.
  • Maintaining quality control procedures.
  • Finding ways to prevent problems and to solve any that crop up.
  • Assessing and minimizing risk.
  • Writing reports and keeping on top of paperwork.
  • Helping to negotiate contracts and securing permits and licenses.

Qualification & Requirements

Diploma (Preferred knowledge in mechanical/technical fields).
Relevant experience can be beneficial to securing this job.

  • Excellent understanding of electrical, plumbing, roofing, foundations, carpentry and masonry work.

        • Understanding of proper safety procedures and recognition of hazards.
        • Coordination and supervision of workers.
        • Provide schedules for workers.
        • Assign tasks to construction laborers.
        • Liaise with contractors, managers and other stakeholders, ensuring that all parties remain coordinated.
        • Translate blueprints into plans.
        • Organizing the equipment and manpower necessary to complete the project.
        • Responsible for maintaining safety and quality standards.
      • Keeping detailed records of construction site activities.
